Mental Health and your morning coffee – R U OK?

RUOK Cafe The Drop

Local café The Drop Espresso in Annandale will be your one stop shop for great coffee and mental health awareness for a week starting Monday, July 3. Partnering with R U OK?, the suicide prevention charity, The Drop will be rebranding for a week of coffee and events to open up the conversation about mental health.

With a simple message that just one interaction such as asking a person if they’re OK might get someone to open up, all the while letting them know that there is someone out there who cares.

To celebrate the week, The Drop will have a number of RUOK ambassadors and celebrities attending over the week including CrossFit champion Khan Porter and Hockeyroos star, Rachael Lynch. In addition, R U OK? cups will be used to serve coffees all week, and official R U OK? merchandise will be available for purchase.

Owner, Matthew Lynch commented: “Working with RUOK Day was an obvious choice given that baristas are already a key point of contact in many people’s lives. Opening up to your barista seems to come easy to most people and it’s a great opportunity to ask the question R U OK?”
